Committee On Ways and Means

As the oldest Committee of the United States Congress, the Ways and Means Committee is tasked with forming tax policy in the House of Representatives.

• Subcommittee on Human Resources
  • The Human Resources Subcommittee has jurisdiction on issues relating to public assistance provisions of the Social Security Act.
     
• Subcommittee on Tax Policy
  • The Tax Policy Subcommittee addresses items that have been referred to specifically by the Chairman of the Committee.

• Subcommittee on Oversight
  • The Oversight Subcommittee has jurisdiction over matters involving the Internal Revenue Code and IRS employees and their functions to ensure that American taxpayer dollars are being used fairly, efficiently and effectively.
