Pro-Growth Tax Reform
The current tax code is burdensome and allows loopholes where companies like GE pay no taxes and small businesses bear a larger burden. With the highest corporate tax rate in the world, our businesses are at a disadvantage and our economy continues to struggle. We must fix our tax code and implement pro-growth reforms so that we can spur the economy and get people back to work.
Below are actions I have taken to fix the burdensome tax code and implement pro-growth tax reform:
- Repealed the burdensome and expensive 1099 mandate on small businesses. (H.R. 4; Status- Signed into law by the President)
- Voted to close loopholes for special interests and corporations. (H. Con. Res. 112; Status- Passed by the House of Representatives)
- Supported comprehensive reform of the tax code that lowers rates for everyone and helps make American businesses more competitive. (H. Con. Res. 112; Status- Passed by the House of Representatives)
- Introduced legislation and voted for the Payroll Tax Holiday Extension which saves families $1000 each year. (H.R. 3630 Conference Report; Status - Signed into law by the President)
- Co-sponsored the Freedom to Invest Act which would incentivize American companies overseas to take their earnings and invest them here at home to spur the economy and create more jobs. (H.R. 1834; Status- Introduced in the House of Representatives)
