The United States does not have a true high speed rail system. A viable high speed rail system in this country would reduce congestion on our clogged highways and at our nation’s crowded airports. Construction and operation of new high speed rail corridors would provide thousands of new jobs. High speed rail stations would also serve as anchors for new real estate developments, potentially revitalizing their surrounding communities.
