PDF Files (Adobe Acrobat Systems) Adobe® (creator of the PDF) defines PDF as "an acronym for 'Portable Document Format.' PDF is a file format that lets you view and print a file exactly as the author designed it, without needing to have the same application or fonts used to create the file." Many of the House documents available from the Clerk’s site are in PDF. To view these documents, you will need to use a reader. One of several available, Acrobat Reader®, can be downloaded from the Adobe® Web site.
