Pages

Although Members of Congress sponsor Pages from their districts, Pages work for the entire House of Representatives and Senate.  As a parent and former youth program director, Susan is delighted when she can give a young person from San Diego the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

Because there are many more congressional districts than pages, Members of Congress do not always have the opportunity to nominate pages.  Susan may or may not have the opportunity to nominate a young person for the next page school semester but the office will keep applications on file if they meet the requirements.

To qualify as a House page, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a high school junior;
  • Be at least sixteen years of age; and
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Pages serve as support staff for Member of Congress.  Page duty consists primarily of assisting Members on the floor of the House and disseminating legislative material around the Capitol complex.  Serving as a Page is a great way to learn firsthand about how Congress works.

Housing, academic classes and a stipend are provided for each school page term.  These positions are very competitive.  If you need additional information, please contact Cynthia Patton at (202) 225-2040.
