Boys/Girls State Honorees

Ryan Stroud, Vacaville High School
Ryan is a senior in Advanced Placement Courses and maintains a 4.67 GPA. He works part time in a law office as the computer network administrator. He is a member of the California Scholarship Federation, a GOTCHA recipient, a member of the National Honor Roll, and a recipient of the Governor’s Scholarship. He is active with the Interact Club (a community service organization of students focused on civic improvement), the LinkCREW (a peer leadership group), and Families Helping Families.

Kelley Cox, Vacaville High School
Kelley plays in the band/orchestra, has been on the honor roll since 1996, is a Link Crew leader, was a member of the A-Team in 2002 and 2003, a representative of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 2003, and a Youth Taking on Tobacco High School Hero for 2003. She is a volunteer tutor at Markham Elementary School and at Vacaville High. She was Sophomore of the Year in 2003, has been on the Honor Roll since 1996, Solano County Honor Band Member in 2003, and a recipient of the STAR Test Scholarship in 2003.

Alex Miller, Vanden High School
Alex is an avid swimmer, earning various awards and recognitions over a decade including consecutive all-league high school honors, state section awards, and selection for the Western Zone All Star Team. He has maintained a 4.5 GPA and a class rank of l while taking the most rigorous curriculum offered at Vanden. He is involved with activities at St. Joseph’s Church and at Travis Air Force Base.

Rebekah Sick, Vanden High School
Rebecca is heavily involved in the arts including ballet, tap/jazz, hip-hop dance, theatre, instrumentation and vocal studies. She is the assistant section leader of the Vanden High School Marching Band where she plays the trumpet. She sings in the Bel Canto Women’s Choir and the Chamber Mixed Choir. She is a student leader of the Glad Tidings Church and a member of the choir.

Tom Geller, Will C. Wood High School
Tom participated in the National Math Competition, as a delegate for a Model United Nations Summit, worked on both President Bush’s reelection campaign and Governor Schwarzenegger’s election, and was a member of the School Planning Site Committee. He is the current treasurer and past president of the German Club. He likes to golf, ski and hike.

Jessica Hosfelt, Will C. Wood High School
Jessica has been on the high school honor roll since 2004 and was on the middle school honor roll from 1999-2001. She maintained a 4.0 GPA through her freshman and sophomore years and a 4.5 GPA through the first half of her junior year. She is a member of the Sacramento Youth Symphony, the Solano County Youth Orchestra since 2001, and the CBDA All State Honor Band. She is the recipient of three Presidential Awards for Educational Excellence and Outstanding Achievement, the Governor’s Scholarship Award, and two Golden State Awards.
