Trip to Iraq: 2005 (10/05)
Rep. Kind traveled to Iraq in October the week before the October 15th referendum on a new Iraqi constitution. Read more about Rep. Kind's trip in his Report from Iraq.

Teaming Up With Wildlife: Kind Given Conservation Award (05/26/05)
Rep. Kind stands with Khege the red-tailed hawk and leaders from the Teaming With Wildlife coalition to highlight the importance of a strong collaborative effort in the campaign to conserve America’s wildlife. Kind was recognized by the coalition earlier this year for his leadership in wildlife preservation efforts.

Veterans Day: Send off Ceremony for 128th National Guard (11/11/04)
This Veterans' Day, Rep. Kind travelled to Camp Shelby in Mississippi to send off the 680 members of the 128th National Guard Infantry Unit based in Eau Claire. 

National WW II Reunion (5/29/04)
On May 29th the nation's capital welcomed the largest-ever gathering of World War II veterans for the National WW II Reunion and the dedication of the WWII Memorial on the National Mall. During this historic event, Rep. Kind joined a corps of volunteers for the Veterans History Project in an unprecedented effort to conduct on-the-spot interviews with visiting veterans and those who served in support of their efforts.

Iraq Trip: 2003
From October 6-10, 2003, Ron visited troops in Iraq as part of an official Congressional delegation.

Rep. Kind visits the National Youth Sports Camp in Eau Claire Wisconsin. The NYSP is an educational partnership that has worked successfully for 35 years. It provides low-income children, ages 10-16, a five-week summer program offering sports and academic enrichment at colleges and universities nationwide. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire enrolls more than 600 youths and has been recognized nationally for its excellence.

2004 townhalls

Town Hall Meetings, (various dates in 2004)
Since taking office, Rep. Kind has held town hall meetings in all 19 counties throughout the Third Congressional District. Kind believes it is important for people to have an opportunity to meet with their representative to share their views, concerns and raise questions about the issues of the day.

2003 CWD Conference, (11/03)
Congressman Kind hosted a conference on chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Dodgeville, Wisconsin on November 17, 2003.

Tour of Mississippi Backwaters, (07/02)
Congressman Kind took a tour of the Mississippi River backwaters on July 1, 2002.

Purple Heart Event, (05/02)
Congressman Kind presided at a ceremony honoring Gordon Grengs, a World War II veteran who has family living in the Third Congressional District. The event took place May 13, 2002 at the Government Center in Hudson.

'Eggs Act' Education Event, (04/02)
Congressman Kind met with elementary students in western Wisconsin in April 2002. Congressman Kind introduced the bipartisan Educational Grants for Great Starts Act (The Eggs Act). This bill is a three-year pilot project in elementary schools that will link the school breakfast program with morning educational activities.

UW-Stout Political Science Class, (04/02)
Congressman Kind often visits classes at schools in western Wisconsin. In April 2002 he visited a political science class at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Turkey Hunting on the Farm (04/05)
Congressman Kind had a successful 2005 turkey hunt this April on his farm in Jackson County.

Deer and Duck Hunting Season (2001)
As an avid outdoorsman, Congressman Kind enjoys duck and deer hunting every fall in western WI. Here are photos of Ron with Ty and one of the bucks Ron bagged while deer hunting.

Washington Events

2001 Holidays at the US Capitol
The Architect of the Capitol annually installs a Holiday tree on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.

Bolivian President Visit
The president of Bolivia, Jorge Quiroga Ramirez, met with Congressman Kind and other New Democrat leaders on Capitol Hill. The leaders discussed various topics, including trade, the European Union, and agriculture.
