Introduction

Students are Susan’s inspiration and are the reason she became involved in public life. Susan’s experiences as a mother, school volunteer and director of a youth leadership program convinced her that while legislators work hard to ensure that our children are ready for their communities, there is not enough emphasis on making sure that our communities are ready for our children.

Susan feels strongly that young people should be given every possible opportunity to learn and grow in new settings. Susan is always looking to involve San Diego’s young people in her office so they can learn about Congress.
