Building an Innovative Workforce

Effective job assistance programs are vitally important to building a successful, competitive workforce. Sustaining America's world-class innovation is difficult when millions of Americans are currently out of work, when one million private sector jobs have been lost since the start of the Bush administration and when long-term unemployment is at the highest level in 10 years.

House Democrats support aggressive investment in job assistance programs to help people move quickly to new jobs, higher incomes and successful futures.

President's Budget Undermines Competitiveness
