Kline hosting final prescription drug benefit session
Deadline for Medicare sign-up period is May 15
April 25, 2006
BURNSVILLE – Congressman John Kline (R-MN) will be hosting one more Medicare prescription drug information and assistance session free for constituents in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional district.
“There are a lot of choices and the plans can be confusing to some,” Kline said. “I think it is important to help more senior citizens by providing them with the information they need to make the best choices for themselves.”
Congressman Kline has already hosted five Medicare information sessions. At those sessions, volunteers from the Senior Linkage Line work one-on-one with senior citizens in the 2nd district to answer their questions and help them narrow down their choices or select a plan that meets their needs.
“Medicare’s full prescription drug benefit is helping millions of Americans save money on the medicines they need,” Kline said. “I’ve been encouraged by the hundreds of senior citizens who participated in our first four information sessions to get the facts for themselves.”
The time to sign up and save is running out. The sign-up period to enroll for prescription drug coverage ends May 15, and won’t re-open until Nov. 15. The next session is:
May 8
9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Dakota County Technical College
1300 145th Street East
Rosemount, MN 55068
Because space is limited, reservations are required. To make your reservation, call Congressman Kline’s Burnsville office at (952) 808-1213. Sessions last between 45 minutes to an hour. Participants should bring a list of all medications, dosage amounts and their Medicare card.
