Matching Grant Overview

Now in its 25th year, the Matching Grant Program is a competitive grants program that helps U.S. private voluntary organizations (PVOs) develop their community-based programs overseas. By matching dollar-for-dollar a PVO's own resources, the Matching Grant Program supports PVO programs that are consistent with USAID's evolving priorities (such as microenterprise development and NGO Capacity building in conflict affected areas) and geographic interests. Through the Matching Grant Program, PVOs can expand successful programs in new places, initiate new projects, or undertake experimental or innovative projects that offer potential for learning and replication.

The Matching Grant Program is no longer issuing Request for Applications (RFAs). This program will be phased out by FY 2005 when the remaining Matching Grants expire.
