 We dispose of excess property received from the military services. The inventory changes daily and includes thousands of items -- which you can easily research by using other parts of our DRMS Web site—www.drms.com or www.dla.mil/drms.

Property is first offered for reuse within DoD, transfer to other federal agencies, or donation to state and local governments and other qualified organizations. Qualified property that is not reused is sold to the public as surplus. In fiscal 2000, we managed the reuse of nearly $4 billion worth of property and sold remaining eligible property for more than $102 million in national and local sales.

Our worldwide workforce numbers approximately 1,950. We have field offices located on or near U.S. military facilities in 39 U.S. states and 13 countries. We are part of a larger organization, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), headquartered in Fort Belvoir, Va., www.dla.mil
