The Public Affairs Office serves the needs of the leadership and scientific and support organizations within the Laboratory in communicating with employees, news media and other external audiences.

PAO coordinates its activities closely with the Laboratory's Government Relations and Community Relations offices. These organizations together make up the Communications and External Relations Division.
