new Help America Vote Act (HAVA) and NVLAP

On June 23, 2004, a Federal Register Notice was published announcing that NVLAP will establish a laboratory accreditation program (LAP) for laboratories that perform testing of voting systems, including hardware and software components. This program will provide for the accreditation of laboratories that test voting systems using standards determined by the Election Assistance Commission.

Information about the new NVLAP Voting Systems LAP will be made available at this web site as it is developed. Send an e-mail to nvlap.voting@nist.gov to be put on the e-mail mailing list.
