CRS (Clinical Reporting System, formerly known as GPRA+)

Welcome to the home page for CRS (IHS Clinical Reporting System) software application. CRS is the reporting tool used by the IHS Office of Planning and Evaluation to collect and report clinical performance results annually to HHS and to Congress. This site will serve as a central repository for information about the IHS Clinical Reporting System (BGP).

CRS is an RPMS (Resource and Patient Management System) software application designed for national reporting as well as local and Area monitoring of clinical performance measures. CRS produces on demand from local RPMS databases a printed or electronic report for any or all of over 200 clinical performance indicators, representing 35 clinical topics. CRS is intended to eliminate the need for manual chart audits for evaluating and reporting clinical indicators that depend on RPMS data.

Each year, an updated version of CRS software is released to reflect changes in and additions to clinical indicator definitions. Click on any of the software versions listed in the box at the left for detailed descriptions.

Indicator example: GPRA Indicator Pap Smear Rates: Report the number of female patients ages 18 through 64 with a pap smear documented during the past three years.

CURRENT STATUS:

CRS 2005 (BGP v.5.0) was released in late October 21st, 2004.

An enhanced version of GPRA+ FY04 (BGP v.3.1) was released for national deployment in mid-June. Key enhancements include updating some logic definitions, adding a HEDIS report, and adding two user-defined population options to the Selected Indicators report: a patient panel (user-defined list of patients) and all patients regardless of community of residence.

GPRA+ FY04 software (version 3.0) was released for national deployment by ITSC on January 16, 2004. FY04 training was sponsored at 7 Areas and completed in late April 2004.
