Seismic Activity - Cobb Offset- May, 2004

Cobb Offset 2004 seismicity mapThere was a significant earthquake swarm at the Cobb Offset beginning on May 10, 2004 at 1625Z. The swarm was intense in comparison to other episodes along the Cobb, producing >130 earthquakes in a 17 hr period. The figure shows the bathymetry of the Cobb Offset region, a few of the earthquake locations (white dots), and the location of the main endeavour vent field (red triangle) Unfortunately, the swarm has already died down, but we will keep you posted if activity increases in the short term.
