Construction is underway at the Saba Nissan water treatment plant in Baghdad, as part of a USAID $15 million dollar project to expand drinking water for the Baghdad region. The new extension will increase potable water capacity by 225 million liters per day and will serve 640,000 Baghdad residents. USAID is working closely with the The Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works and the Coalition Provisional Authority.
