Environmental Studies of Anthropologic Discharges in the Coastal Zone:

A moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) provides real-time current speed and direction profiles from a site near the Miami Offshore Dredge Material Discharge Site (ODMDS). Data is transferred via cable to a radio link which transmits to AOML. Real-time data (screen display) are utilized to advise dredge operators as to conditions at the dischargesite. These conditions reflect risk factors associated with potential impacts on coastal amenities.
