R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Knoxville announced the arrest today of Ivan Duane Braden for an attempt to maliciously damage and destroy, by means of explosives, a building used in interstate commerce, and possession of a firearm not registered to him.

The arrest was based on an authorized complaint filed by a Special Agent of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force in the Eastern District of Tennessee.

The investigation was predicated by excellent work conducted by the Knox County Sheriff's Department (KCSD). The success of the case was also dependant on assistance provided by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (BATF).

The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
