Drug and Alcohol Implementation Manual Memo
This memorandum is being sent to notify you of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) updated publication, "Implementation Guidelines for Alcohol and Drug Regulations in Highway Transportation."

The FMCSA announces its decision to exempt 29 individuals from the vision requirement in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).

This notice publishes the FMCSA decision to renew the exemptions from the vision requirement in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for 16 individuals.

Understanding FMCSA's Cargo Securement Rules
FMCSA has developed a publication to help motor carriers understand the new cargo securement rules. The booklet provides a brief discussion of the major differences between the old cargo securement requirements and the new regulations that went into effect on January 1. The booklet includes a copy of the new regulations and the Agency's Enforcement Policy Memorandum which clarifies certain portions of the new requirements.

Financial and Operating Statistics Reporting
Any motor carrier of property, household goods, or passengers engaged in interstate, intrastate, and/or foreign operations and with annual revenues of $3 million dollars or more must file annual and/or quarterly reports with the BTS, as required by 49 CFR 1420.

FMCSA Announces Third Annual Research and Technology Stakeholder Forums
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Office of Research and Technology (R&T;) is hosting its third annual stakeholder forums. The forums are designed to gather input on the agency's research agenda from interested stakeholders.

Register for CSA 2010 Listening Sessions
The Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 initiative (CSA-2010) public listening sessions begin this month. FMCSA is asking motor carriers, insurance and safety advocacy groups, traffic enforcement professionals and the public for their views on the ideal ways to measure the safety of truck and bus operations and take effective action.
