BANK ROBBERY

UNKNOWN SUSPECTS

DETAILS SURROUNDING THE CRIMES

Unknown Black male suspects are being sought in connection with armed bank robberies which occurred in the Callahan and St. Augustine, Florida areas in August of 2002. The suspect robbers entered the banks, displayed handguns, and took over the banks by forcing everyone in the banks to lie down. The robbers had tellers open the doors to the areas where money was then taken and put into a plastic bag. The suspects then walked out of the banks with the bag of money.

The suspects may be responsible for similar armed bank robberies which occurred in Folkston, Lake Park, and Albany, Georgia; and Knoxville, Tennessee, between July of 2002 and February of 2003.

The targets of these robberies have been banks located in small towns or on the outskirts of medium-sized towns with convenient access to major roads.

One suspect is described as a Black male, in his mid 20s to 30s, 6'1", 220 to 250 pounds, with a stocky build (pear-shaped). He wore a floppy brimmed hat, similar to a fishing or Caribbean-style hat. He carried a silver or nickel-plated semiautomatic pistol in each robbery. He appeared to be in charge and gave most of the commands.

Descriptive information regarding the second suspect varies, possibly indicating that there may be a third person who alternates robberies with the second suspect. The second suspect is described as a Black male, in his mid 50s, 5'7", and 140 to 160 pounds. He normally carries a dark revolver, wears glasses, and spends the majority of the time in the lobby. The second suspect (possibly a third person) has also been described as a Black male, in his mid 30s, 5'7", 140 to 160 pounds, with a pockmarked face. He carries a dark revolver.

All of the unknown suspects reportedly wear gloves on one or both hands during the robberies. The above photographs show the suspects during the bank robbery which occurred on August 12, 2002, in St. Augustine, Florida.
