An unknown black male is being sought for the April, 1997 robbery of the Colorado National Bank in Westminster. The suspect entered the bank carrying a white cloth money bag and fired a round into the ceiling to announce the robbery. He approached a teller, handed the bag to the teller, and demanded money. Several customers and a bank employee attempted to flee the bank. The suspect, seeing movement near the doors, fired two rounds from a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun. One round struck and killed a bank employee and the second round struck an elderly customer who recovered from his wound. Both men were shot in the back from a distance of 40-50 feet. The suspect then took money and fled the bank making a successful getaway. The unknown suspect was wearing: a dark hooded sweatshirt; a two tone possibly athletic team jacket, with a white pattern on the back and sleeves, and possibly a hood; dark gloves; and a dark ski mask over the lower portion of his face.
