Download Storm Track Data

Data can be downloaded for the following areas. To download an individual track, use the Query Storm Tracks tool.

The storm track data are available in a .zip format for quick and easy download.

The ZIP file contains the following:

  • either atl_hurtrack.shp, pac_hurtrack.shp, or all_hurtrack.shp (GIS shapefile)
  • associated files ( .dbf, .shx)
  • Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC)-compliant metadata in .met and .htm format

The PKZIP® software package is available at http://www.pkware.com and UnZip, a free, open-source software unzipping utility can be downloaded from www.ctan.org/tex-archive/tools/zip/info-zip/UnZip.html.
