The Forensic Audio, Video, and Image Analysis Unit assists the FBI, national and international law enforcement agencies, and the courts with examinations of recorded audio, video, and photographic media. These examinations include authenticity, enhancement, voice comparison, nonvoice signal analysis, video image processing, standards conversion, format conversion, synchronization of separate audio and video signals, special effects, photographic comparisons, photogrammetry, and repair of damaged media.
