Our Mission

"Our mission is to uphold the law through the investigation of violations of federal criminal laws; to protect the United States from foreign intelligence activities; to provide leadership and law enforcement assistance to federal, state, local, and international agencies; and to perform these responsibilities in a manner that is responsive to the needs of the public and faithful to the constitution of the United States. WELCOME

"As Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Minneapolis Division, I would like to welcome you to our web site.

The Minneapolis Division has Federal investigative responsibilities that cover 207 Counties and 224,509 square miles within the states of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, making it the FBI's third largest field division in terms of jurisdiction. The total population of the territory is approximately 6,084,000. In addition, the FBI is tasked with primary investigative jurisdiction for 14 Indian Reservations.

In terms of assigned personnel, the Minneapolis Division is considered a medium-sized office relative to the FBI's other 55 field offices throughout the country. Although a great number of Special Agents and other FBI personnel serve out of the Minneapolis Office proper, many others work out of the 14 Resident Agencies scattered throughout this area.

An overview of our initiatives can be found using the links on this page. Thank you for your interest, and I hope this web site will answer your questions regarding how we combat crime and fight terrorism in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota."
