Mr. Schiff: Changes. That's what's been going on at the
FBI since September 11th, 2001...
AD Swecker: "We've had to prioritize our criminal
work in a way that we do not duplicate what state and local
officers can do; we enhance what they do whenever we can."
Mr. Schiff: That's Chris Swecker, Assistant Director of
the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division. He says, for example,
the threshold on White Collar Crime fraud cases was raised...
AD Swecker: "Up around $100,000. We've had to be
more selective about the drug cases that we're working around
the country; we're still working drugs. We're actively working
the dominant drug organizations."
Mr. Schiff: Swecker says the FBI works with the DEA and
other agencies...
AD Swecker: "ICE, which is the Immigration and Customs
Enforcement; which used to be Immigration and Customs; they've
been combined. As well as the Coast Guard and ATF."
Mr. Schiff: Much more to learn about the FBI. Check fbi.gov
on the Internet. I'm Neal Schiff and that's what's happening
at the "FBI, This Week."
