CAUTION
In April of 1999, Daniel Perez shot his wife in the face and was arrested
in Los Angeles County, California. While on trial, Perez was out of jail
on bail. He reportedly went searching for his wife and allegedly broke
into his father-in-law's home in San Bernardino County, California. When
Perez was confronted by his father-in-law, Perez allegedly shot and killed
him. The following day, Perez was scheduled to appear in court to continue
his trial for the attempted murder of his wife, but failed to do so. Perez
was convicted in absentia in September of 1999, in Los Angeles County
and sentenced to life plus 33 years and 8 months for the attempted murder.
Perez was subsequently charged in San Bernardino County with the murder
of his father-in-law. On January 23, 2002, Perez was charged in a federal
arrest warrant which was issued by the United States District Court, Central
District of California, Los Angeles, California, with unlawful flight
to avoid confinement.
