NOAA TO ANNOUNCE 2004-2005 U.S. WINTER OUTLOOK

WHAT: After such a cool summer over much of the U.S. and a near-record number of named landfalling hurricanes, many people are wondering if we should expect a cold and snowy winter. On Oct. 6, 2004, forecasters at the NOAA Climate Prediction Center will announce the 2004-2005 U.S. Winter Outlook. NOAA scientists will also highlight the probable climate features that could influence this year's winter weather patterns across the nation.
