An unknown male suspect is being sought in connection with over 30 armed bank robberies which were committed in the counties of Pinellas, Polk, Hillsborough, Hernando, Marion, Sarasota, and Citrus, in Florida. From December of 2000 to May of 2003, the suspect entered the banks alone, flashed a revolver in front of bank tellers, obtained money, and fled the banks. This suspect was dubbed the "Band-Aid Bandit" because he initially wore a bandage on his cheek, possibly to cover up a mole. Although the "Band-Aid Bandit" entered the banks alone, he may have used a getaway driver. Then, in May of 2003, the suspect began entering banks with an accomplice. The suspect and his accomplice may have been traveling in a 4-door, silver/gray Buick bearing Florida license plates. During the robberies which occurred later in 2003, the suspect did not wear a bandage, but wore various other disguises including a baseball cap, sunglasses, a wig, and a fake mustache. He has short hair and may have a skin discoloration on his hands and forearms. The accomplice is described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, 5'8" to 5'10", and 160 to 170 pounds. The FBI is offering a reward for information leading to the individuals responsible for these bank robberies. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS CASE, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL FBI OFFICE OR THE NEAREST AMERICAN EMBASSY OR CONSULATE. |
