Support for CILSS

Burkina Faso/CILSS: At their request, the REA will visit the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) to assess interest and capacity to conduct environmental training.


Technical Assistance to Mali: In association with the USAID/Mali Mission, USAID's Environmental Office in Washington and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the REA will conduct an assessment of Malian Environment Ministry's capacity to conduct environmental assessments.

Ghana and Cote D' Ivoire: The REA is scheduled to complete design work for a Natural Resource Transboundary Initiative by the end of September.

Guinea and Sierra Leone: The REA will continue to work on the design phase of a Natural Resource Transboundary Initiative.
