Preparedness - Preparing the Nation for All Hazards.

Animals and Disasters

When it comes to emergencies, animals, whether they are pets, livestock, or in the wild, have often been overlooked by emergency planners and the general public. But that's changing. In this section of the FEMA.GOV Web site, we are gathering the best advice and resources available to help you prepare and respond to the emergency needs of your animals, whether you are responsible for caring for one or one hundred.

FEMA's Animals and Disasters program provides information about disaster planning for animals, and encourages families to think about their pets and other animals before disaster strikes.
