As of April 2001, fourteen individuals had been charged with bombing the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. The U.S. Government is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest or prosecution of these individuals. Persons providing information are eligible for a reward of up to $5 million dollars, protection of their identity and possible relocation for themselves and their family.

On May 29, 2001, the United States Attorney's Office and the FBI announced the convictions of four men in connection with the deadly Embassy Bombings.
On October 18, 2001, these four individuals were sentenced to life in federal prison without the possibility of release.

The investigation continues because several defendants in this matter remain as fugitives. Additionally, there is a $25 million reward for information leading to the apprehension and prosecution of each of these fugitives.
