SUMMARY: Two Direct Loan Program workshops for 2001-2002: Direct Loan Basic and Direct Loan Update will be available to participants from June through August all across the country.

Dear Partner:

SFA University is pleased to announce two new initiatives for the 2001-2002 training cycle. Direct Loan Basic and Direct Loan Update are two completely redesigned training sessions geared toward both new and seasoned financial aid professionals.

What will the workshops cover?

Direct Loan Basic is a one-day training session designed to give the participant a well-balanced overview of the Direct Loan module in EDExpress. It is intended for users who may need a refresher in EDExpress Direct Loan, or those who are entirely new to the program.

Topics covered

Direct Loan Update is a one-day training session intended to give the Direct Loan expert in your office a chance to find out what is new and exciting in the Direct Loan Program for the 2001-2002 award year. Please note: The Direct Loan Update training does not rely on the EDExpress software. It is intended for ALL Direct Loan Schools whether they be mainframe, combo or EDExpress.

How do I register?

In many instances, the Direct Loan Basic and Direct Loan Update training sessions will be held back-to-back. In other cases, one may be held without the other. We have scheduled sessions all across the nation, including some at school locations in an effort to bring training to those who would not otherwise be able to attend.

To register, click on http://bcol01.ed.gov/CFAPPS/SFA/index.cfm and select the workshop and location that will fit your schedule best. As always, the training sessions are free but you must arrange and pay for your own travel. Driving directions and hotel listings are available at this site as well. Note: If you have any difficulty accessing the registration site, contact SFA_Internet_Registration@ed.gov

We hope you will find these sessions beneficial and that they will enhance your ability to deliver Title IV aid to our end customer, the student.

Sincerely,

Anne Teresa
