Craig discussed the importance of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the business community working together to prepare cities, states and businesses in the event of a disaster. Craig answered many questions regarding the business communities role in disaster planning. |

Craig was joined by Westbrook Fire Chief Gary Littlefield, City Administrator Jim Violette, and U.S. Representative Thomas Allen. More than $3 million dollars has been provided to first responders in Maine this year as part of the 2003 Assistance for Firefighters Grant Program. |

Boston, MA, October 10, 2002 -- Fire Chief William Borst and FEMA Regional Director Daniel A. Craig display Hebron's Assistance to Fire Fighters Program grant award of $32,400. The FEMA/USFA grant will upgrade the departments breathing apparatus by purchasing a stationary air compressor unit.

Boston, MA -- Fire safety and prevention are always a concern in the City of Norwich where sections are covered in dense brush and wooded areas. City officials joined Fire Chief James Walsh as he receives a Fire Assistance Grant in the amount of $117,00 from Daniel A. Craig, Regional Director of FEMA. The award provides funding for the purchase of a Brush truck with a Compressed foam System. This piece of fire fighting equipment uses advanced technology that can be used in rural and urban settings.
