Interstate Identification Index Name Check Efficacy Report: Report of the National Task Force to the U.S. Attorney General. July 1999.

This report sets out the conclusions and recommendations of the Task Force on Interstate Identification Index (III) Name Check Efficacy. The Task Force, funded by the Bureau of Justice Statistics,
U.S. Department of Justice, conducted a study to determine the accuracy of identifications resulting from name checks of the III compared to identifications resulting from fingerprint-based searches of the FBI's criminal history record files, and evaluate inaccurate or missing identifications resulting from name checks. The study was conducted by the National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics (SEARCH) and Queues Enforth Development, Inc. (Q.E.D.) under the direction of the Task Force.
