Fugitive Thomas Bristow Arrested in San Diego County

John R. Kingston, Acting Special Agent in Charge, San Diego Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announces the arrest of Thomas Ralph Bristow, 36 years of age. Bristow, who is associated with the white supremacist group Nazi Low Riders, was sought for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP). He was arrested by FBI Agents, U. S. Forest Service Officers, and San Diego County Sheriff's Deputies at his residence in Descanso, on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 8:30 a.m. without incident.

In July of 2002, Bristow escaped from a medium security prison in Salem, Oregon. He was incarcerated for Assault, Tampering with a Witness, Mistreatment, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Investigation conducted in part by the Oregon Department of Corrections placed Bristow in San Diego and a federal warrant was issued by the United States District Court, District of Oregon on October 16, 2002.

At the time of his arrest, Bristow was living with his girlfriend in a trailer in a remote area of San Diego County.

Bristow was transported to the San Diego County Jail for processing and booking. His initial appearance in state court is scheduled for Thursday and it is anticipated that he will be extradited back to Oregon, to complete his ten-year sentence.
