INDIVIDUAL ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

John E. Lewis, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the arrest of Brian Bass, 32, of Enid, Oklahoma, for possession of child pornography.

Information was received by the Oklahoma City Division of the FBI as a result of Operation Candyman, a nationwide crackdown on the proliferation of child pornography via the Internet, that occurred last year. The information provided from Operation Candyman indicated that Brian Bass may be downloading images of child pornography to his personal computer.

Further information gathered from the investigation conducted by the Enid Resident Agency of the FBI and the Enid Police Department led to Brian Bass being Indicted in the Western District of Oklahoma on May 8, 2003, for five counts of violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(a)(5)(B), Possession of Child Pornography.

On May 12, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Bass was arrested without incident at his residence in Enid. He was arrested by the FBI and Enid Police Department.
