MISSING URBANA GIRL RECOVERED IN CHICAGO

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today that Tyeeste Jones, a 14-year old girl who went missing from her home in Urbana, Illinois last weekend, has been recovered. Members of the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) found Jones this afternoon at a residence located at 2035 North Avers in Chicago.

Jones was in the company of a 42-year old male, who is being questioned by VCTF members but has not been charged in connection with her disappearance. Jones was reported to be unharmed and in good condition. Arrangements are being made for her return to Urbana, later tonight.

Jones has been the subject of a nationwide search and a statewide "Amber Alert" since her disappearance. Chicago VCTF members were led to the North Avers address by a tip received from the public. The Chicago VCTF is comprised of FBI Special Agents; Detectives from the Chicago Police Department and Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Department.

Additional information about the investigation is available from Lt. Mike Metzler of the Urbana, Illinois Police Department at (217) 384-2330.
