FBI Offers $5,000 Reward in Take-Over Robbery Case New Sketches of Suspects Released

The Oregon FBI is offering up to $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the April 9, 2003, robbery at the Bank of the West, 8135 SE Division. Three people entered the bank at about 9:50 a.m. One person jumped up onto the counter and shouted that the bank was being robbed. At least one person had a handgun. There were approximately 10 people, including two customers, in the bank at the time of the robbery. No shots were fired, and no one was hurt.

The suspects are all African American with medium complexions, in their late 20's to early 30's, average height and weight. One of the robbers was a woman, and she was wearing a knit hat. All work dark clothing. The FBI is releasing new sketches of the suspects based on witness descriptions.

The robbers were seen leaving the bank in what turned out to be a stolen car. Portland Police Officers responding to the scene were able to immediately determine that the car had been taken from an apartment complex a few miles away earlier in the morning. The car was found abandoned a short time after the robbery at SE 76th and Lincoln.

Anyone with information about the robbery or suspects is asked to call the FBI at (503) 224-4181.
