Arrests Announced in Knoxville Bank Robbery

R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced the arrests of DAVID FULKNER and CARL ANTHONY TUCKER, who will be charged with the robbery of the Home Federal Bank, located at 4900 North Broadway, Knoxville, Tennessee.

According to witnesses, a lone black male armed with a handgun entered the bank at approximately 10:50 this morning. He announced the robbery, and proceeded to take a substantial amount of cash from the teller drawers. After fleeing the bank, the robber entered a silver colored car driven by a second individual and sped away.

Witnesses provided law enforcement with the description of the get-away vehicle, which was spotted shortly thereafter by members of the Knox County Sheriff's Office. Deputies took both FULKNER and TUCKER into custody without incident. Money and a handgun were also recovery.

Continued investigation into this matter will be conducted by the Knoxville Police Department and the FBI.

FULKNER and TUCKER will be taken before United States Magistrate Judge Bruce Guyton later today for his initial appearance. The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
