ARREST OF BRUCE TYRON LINDSEY Birmingham,
AL-- Carmen S. Adams, FBI Special Agent in Charge, Birmingham, Alabama field
office announced the arrest today of Bruce Tyron Lindsey, age 20, on a federal
warrant charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in connection with
charges issued from Ramsey County, Minnesota. Lindsey was charged with a parole
violation for robbery in the first degree and being a felon in possession of a
firearm. In addition, St. Paul, Minnesota Police have developed Lindsey as a suspect
in murder investigation in which the victim was shot several times outside a St.
Paul bar on July 8, 2003. The shooting is believed to be gang-related.
SAC Adams stated that Lindsey was arrested without incident by Agents and Officers
of the FBI Fugitive and Violent Crimes Task force and the Birmingham Police at
an apartment complex located on Oporta Madrid Boulevard in Birmingham. After the
shooting on July 8, 2003, investigators in Minnesota determined that Lindsey had
fled the State of Minnesota and they tracked him to a location in Birmingham.
SAC Adams stated that Lindsey was considered a most dangerous fugitive
with a lengthy history of violent crime. She lauded the efforts of law enforcement
personnel from Minnesota and Birmingham which helped lead to Lindsey's quick apprehension
today.
