Because SEC is not able to provide all the services that our users want, we are anxious to work with value-added vendors who will use our data and products to develop commercially available products. This goal is strongly supported by the NOAA directives to work with the private sector and make government resources available to the public.

SEC holds annual meetings with vendors and urges vendors to attend Space Weather Week so as to talk to end users, researchers and other vendors, each of which may foster customer opportunities.

  SEC's Annual Conference pages give you information about previous conferences and the upcoming SWW.
• Policies on Information Dissemination
  SEC's Information Dissemination Policies were reviewed and updated in April 2001.
• SEC Policy for Improving Customer Service by Fostering a Vendor Industry
  The conference in May 2000 held a vendor meeting on Wed. night, May 3. Most of the discussion focused on the formation of a vendor association. A Policy for Fostering a Space Weather Industry was outlined by Barbara Poppe.
• Notes on the Vendor Meeting (Sept. '99)

This meeting saw a major initiative to support vendors, which fosters opportunities for new space weather services. Please review this recap of the SEC presentations to understand the relationships now possible with SEC.

• Space Weather Service Vendor Industry Association

The active vendors over the last year have worked to form a vendor industry association in conjunction with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The deliberations about forming an association, written at the April '99 vendor meeting, is available here.
