The Office of Information and Learning Resources' mission
is to improve organizational productivity by facilitating access
to and management of information for students, faculty, and staff
of the Training Division, other FBI personnel, and the larger
law enforcement community. This mission is accomplished through
the provision of library services and the support of academic
and administrative computing in the Training Division.
The primary objective of the library is to maintain and make
available the most complete and up-to-date law enforcement library
in the world. A variety of audiovisual materials, legal publications,
government documents, periodicals and on-line resources are available.
Academic computing includes the development of technology-based
interactive training materials in support of FBI training initiatives,
and the conduct of computer skills training classes for both
FBI New Agents and National Academy students.
Administrative computing, through data collection, analysis,
and evaluation activities, provides information that facilitates
management decision-making within the Training Division, throughout
the FBI, and in the larger law enforcement community.
The Office of Information and Learning Resources provides
microcomputer support for the Training Division, participates
in the Training Division's distance learning development efforts,
and seeks out innovative ways of enhancing employee performance
in the FBI.
