FBI Director Louis J. Freeh today made the following statement in response to the dismissal of FBI Agent Lon Horiuchi from a civil law suit brought by the Branch Davidians:

"We are very grateful that this long standing allegation has been resolved in favor of Agent Horiuchi. This lifts a heavy burden both he and his family have had to endure for many years. We appreciate this dismissal action by the court and know that the American public appreciates the sacrifices that thousands of law enforcement officers like Agent Horiuchi are called upon to make everyday."

Note: The allegation was that Agent Horiuchi fired his weapon during the standoff. He was dismissed by the court after plaintiff Davidians indicated to the court that there was no evidence to support the allegation.
