STATEMENT OF FBI DIRECTOR ROBERT S. MUELLER, III:

“I speak for all of the FBI in expressing my appreciation to the Inspector General of the Department of Justice and the Public Integrity Section of the Criminal Division for the very capable investigation that resulted in a swift resolution of the false allegations involving Special Agent in Charge Willie Hulon. Thanks to their efforts, we now know that these allegations were the product of a criminal scheme to tarnish SAC Hulon's hard-earned reputation as an exceptional Special Agent and leader in the FBI. It is gratifying to know that those responsible will face charges for their criminal scheme.”

“I also want to commend SAC Hulon for his patience and perseverance these past weeks. SAC Hulon has conducted himself with the utmost dignity and professionalism as he has awaited the resolution of these allegations. I am happy to announce that SAC Hulon will resume his duties and will return to lead the dedicated men and women of the Detroit Field Office.”
