ATTORNEY CONVICTED OF TAX EVASION

Marcos Daniel Jiménez, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and Brian Wimpling, Special Agent in Charge, Criminal Division, Internal Revenue Service, announced today the guilty plea of Patricia del Pino to one count of tax evasion in violation of Title 26, United States Code, Section 7201. Patricia del Pino, an attorney, pled guilty to tax evasion in connection with her United States Individual Tax Return for calendar year 1998.

Her tax evasion conviction, under Title 26, United States Code, Section 7201, carries a maximum penalty of 5 years’ imprisonment and a maximum fine of $250,000.

Mr. Jiménez commended the investigative efforts of the Internal Revenue Service. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard D. Boscovich.
