Mr. Schiff: From Long Beach, California, to a Coast Guard ship to a boat in the Pacific Ocean...

Mr. Norregard: "It's also the story of a couple of brave Agents, namely Jim R. Freeman and Conrad B. Hassell."

Mr. Schiff: That's retired FBI Agent Pete Norregard. He says the FBI got a call from a Coast Guard commander...

Mr. Norregard: "He reported that one of their motorized ships, referred to as cutters, observed a stolen 50 foot ketch, a two-masted sailing ship formerly belonging to Spencer Tracy."

Mr. Schiff: The FBI works cases involving crime on the high seas. Norregard says the Agents, Freeman and Hassell, literally swung into action helping the Coast Guard...

Mr. Norregard: "They were immediately hustled aboard one of the large Coast Guard helicopters with their suits and their ties flapping in the wind."

Mr. Schiff: Norregard says they were flown to the Coast Guard cutter. Then, in the dark...

Mr. Norregard: "They jumped from the Coast Guard cutter to the stolen ketch, onto wet decks and moving decks."

Mr. Schiff:There was gunfire and one of the subjects had a machete. Three men were taken into custody and prosecuted. I'm Neal Schiff and that's the FBI's Closed Case of the Week."
