Mr. Schiff: She was kidnaped; buried alive and survived. It's the story of a 75-year-old woman who was the victim...

Mr. Norregard: "After her abduction, she was forcibly transported to a very desolate area of Joshua Tree National Park."

Mr. Schiff: That's Pete Norregard, retired now, but an FBI Special Agent in California back in the late '70s...

Mr. Norregard: "She was lowered into a previously dug hole in the desert from which she could not climb out of and she remained there for three-days receiving small amounts of water and food."

Mr. Schiff: Norregard says the hole in the ground was about 10-feet deep and that while the hunt was going on, the woman freed herself...

Mr. Norregard: "She had escaped and she had been discovered walking down a country road by the payoff car used in this matter."

Mr. Schiff: There was a $1 million ransom involved. After some gunshots were exchanged, the kidnapers were eventually found at separate locations in the desert near the Joshua Tree National Park. I'm Neal Schiff and that's the FBI's Closed Case of the Week."
