Genomic Analysis Unit

The Genomic Analysis Unit headed by Dr. Peter FitzGerald was established to provide genomic analysis and a network for bioinformatics support for the CCR. Dr. FitzGerald will be the key liaison for the CCR scientists to utilize the genomic databases from Celera, the National Center for Biologic Information and other commercial or public genomic information sources. In addition to leading the genomic analysis bioinformatic effort, the unit will coordinate the ongoing evaluation of database software navigation systems that come onto the market. It will be closely involved with the microarray technology bioinformatics training and support. It will be a resource to the intramural scientist to bring the discoveries of the CGAP program to the research community, as well as bring support to the emerging basic and clinical proteomics effort at the NCI.
