The mission of the CCR Office of Training and Education is to have a programmatic impact on the overall training experience of the basic scientists and clinical fellows in cancer research. This will be achieved through the following goals:

Facilitate and promote training opportunities for Fellows utilizing NCI, NIH, and academic courses.
Plan and implement new courses and training programs to prepare Fellows as successful independent biomedical researchers.
Provide opportunities for secondary mentors and expanded collaborative interactions.
Provide funding mechanisms to reward outstanding research efforts by Postdoctoral Fellows.
Implement funding mechanisms such as the Career Development Awards (K22) to facilitate the Fellow's competitiveness as candidates for academic faculty positions.
Assist trainees as they transition into academic positions and offer exposure to alternative career paths.
